Larry P. Tilley, DVM, DACVIM(Internal Medicine)Santa Fe, New Mexico
Dr. Tilley was named the 1999 Waltham International Recognized Veterinarian of the Year. In 1989, he also was named the United States Veterinarian of the Year by the American Animal Hospital Association. Dr. Tilley is the author of hundreds of journal articles as well as more than a dozen textbooks, including: Essentials of Canine and Feline Electrocardiography, and coauthor of Manual of Canine and Feline Cardiology, and The 5-Minute Veterinary Consult. He has been an invited speaker on veterinary medicine throughout the world, giving presentations on internal veterinary medicine and cardiology.
Dr. Tilley lives in Santa Fe with his wife Jeri, son Kyle, and three great dogs: Stormy, Wendy and Annie. He is also an enthusiastic golfer and long distance runner.

Brendan Corcoran MVB DipPharmPhD, MRCVS
Dr Brendan Corcoran is Director of the Hospital for Small Animals at the University of Edinburgh, where he is also Head of Companion Animal Sciences. He has clinical, teaching and research interests in cardiopulmonary medicine of the dog and cat, and has contributed to many of the standard veterinary textbooks on the topic of canine respiratory medicine. He is co-author with Mike Martin of Cardiorespiratory Diseases of the Dog and Cat, which has recently been released as the 2nd edition.

17:00-18:00 - Diagnosing Heart Failure in 2008 - Dr. TilleyLearn how to best diagnose chronic valvular disease and cardiomyopathy. Learn how to differentiate easily whether the coughing is respiratory or cardiac. This lecture will change the way that you diagnose these common disorders

9:00-10:00 - Treating Heart Failure in 2008 - Dr. Tilley Learn how to best treat chronic valvular disease and cardiomyopathy. The lecture will be oriented to the day-to-day practical use of cardiovascular drugs. Comments on dosages, as well as side effects, will help you decide the best drug regimen for each case. This lecture will change the way that you diagnose and treat this common disorder. Dozens of drugs you should and should not use.
10:00-11:00 - Diagnosis and Treatment of Arrhythmias in 2008 - Dr. TilleyLearn how arrhythmias can be diagnosed in your veterinary clinic and how to treat each abnormality. Every veterinarian leaving this seminar will know how to read an ECG and also treat the common arrhythmias.

11:30-12:30 - Bronchoscopic imaging of the respiratory system - Dr. CorcoranNormal bronchoscopic anatomy of the dog, how to identify changes and how to interpret those changes
12:30-13:30 - Pulmonary hypertension; cardiac and respiratory mechanisms - Dr. CorcoranThe role of cardiac and respiratory diseases in the aetiopathogenesis of pulmonary hypertension will be covered, and the limited therapeutic options discussed.

18:30-19:30 - Respiratory oncology; clinical features, diagnosis and treatment - Dr. Corcoran Are we moving any way forward in the palliation, treatment and cure of tumours of the respiratory system? This talk will review current knowledge on respiratory cancer and treatment modalities
19:30-20:30 - The eosinophil in respiratory disease; what is it doing and why is it there - Dr. Corcoran The diseases, allergic and parasitic, that can result in eosinophil accumulation in the respiratory system will be reviewed in terms of diagnosis and treatment.
